Fellow citizens of Eaton County,

Michigan is in its defining moment. The strength of our republic is being tested, and unimaginable impossibilities have now become our sudden reality. We are in a time where a dollar buys much less, our children aren’t learning, parents are losing their right to raise their children, Freedom of Speech, basic property rights, and the right to bear arms are being trampled. Michigan needs a turn-a-round. We need to re-awaken to the basics of this great Republic – Faith, Family & Freedom.

Every parents’ rights are being challenged across the state. Education freedom – the natural and fundamental right of parents to determine and direct the care and education of their children is under attack. Several major health networks in Michigan are kicking parents out of adolescent/teenager exam rooms after being told that the children are old enough to make medical decisions on their own, and that minor children must give consent for parents to stay in exam rooms, make medical decisions, or acquire medical records. We must protect our children!

Families like mine are facing great challenges to make ends meet and are deeply concerned about the future our children will inherit. From the grocery store to the gas pump the real cost of living continues to increase. Parents live it every time they have to make a choice between diapers and date-night. The cost just to provide for basic needs is overtaking the dreams of a generation to provide a bright hope and future for the next. Our elderly are impacted as many have to make real choices between essential medicines and their utility bills. As our children move into young adults, they feel this economic pressure everytime they contemplate their future plans. We have to take common-sense action in Lansing to secure the future of our families and the prosperity of generations. We need to take the limits off of families and small business so that every hard-working citizen in Eaton County can win again in the workplace and the marketplace, and forge a way forward given by God, not big government.

We need to restore real hope, not in a handout, not in government itself, but through restoring the freedoms that our government should exist to defend and protect. We need limited government that empowers individual choices, rather than a government that controls every aspect of life. Faith is the foundation that this great nation was built on. The Freedom of Religion is our cornerstone freedom, the right that establishes every other freedom! We need strong morals and real family values – they are bedrock principles in our great republic. We have to maintain our God-given rights to worship, enjoy the freedoms recognized in our Constitution and given by God!

As a long-time pastor in Eaton County, my wife Emily of 21 years and I have also been successful entrepreneurs in business and enjoy living as 5th generation residents in Chester Township with our five children. I will serve Eaton County with honesty, integrity, common-sense, and an old-fashioned work ethic. I am a passionate servant-leader and I am ready to serve the citizens of Eaton County and see the political power-grabs and gross governmental overreach in Lansing stopped. You can count on me to represent you in Lansing. I will uphold parents’ rights to protect their children, and join with others to make common-sense solutions that protect our citizens – and their rights. I will stand strong against the tyranny in Lansing and stand up for what is right,. I will vote every time to protect your God-given rights, and be a representative you can trust.
